12 Mar Exemptions from mandatory hotel stopover for certain workers on entry to Canada
Until March 21, 2021, workers in certain seasonal (and agri-food workers) occupations under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system won’t need to complete the 3-night hotel stopover.
Instead, they’ll go directly to the location of their 14-day quarantine provided by their employer. This location is where they’ll wait for the results of their COVID-19 test taken on arrival.
More details will be available soon about the process that seasonal workers should expect after March 21, 2021.
Exempt occupations:
Primary agriculture NOC: 0821, 0822, 8252, 8255, 8431, 8432, 8611.
Other agri-food occupations NOC: 6331, 9461, 9462, 9463, 9617, 9618
